traffic lights changing
mad dashing against the red
roadkill wannabes

Spot Haiku 27
Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring
i.
Layers of meaning
Layers of winter hardship
Peel off in sunshine
Cathy Dineen
ii.
Come part clouds part clouds
So unrest and frustration
Give way to content
Simon Patience
iii.
There was hail in Perth
And mighty winds did sweep down
Now just chirping birds.
Sutekh the Destroyer
iv.
Winter versus Spring:
Will frost destroy sweet blossoms?
No, but Summer will.
Sharkbite von Herringattack
v.
This light comes in time
For me to see clearly
We need umbrellas
Cathy Dineen
vi.
soft and warm breezes
green shoots and scented blossoms
a change of season
Leah Billeam

Spot Haiku 19
i.
the light that startles
stripping off winter layers
alabaster skin
Cathy Dineen
ii.
Eyes clear and twinkling
notice strangers on a train
hairy legs weather
Chris Gill
iii.
Sun strikes my cold skin
Melts the ice of indifference
And new desires begin
Doug Hamilton
iv.
morning walk to work
ipod, sun, still coolish breeze
good to be alive
Jason Rostant
iv.
days kicking nighttime,
open car windows spill rap and
sidewalks show some skin
Patrick McCormick
v.
Sun melts mountains’ mantle.
From warm soil snow juice flows to
Dark bud’s white blossom.
Doug Hamilton
vi.
Newly disembarked,
the Spring air smells like honey.
There's no place like home
Chris Gill
vii.
winter withdrawal
harder to hide imperfections
when there's less to wear
Ian Row

New Year Haiku 2
i.
she awakes
amongst strangers
to the first light of the year
for Kris at the Woodford Folk Festival
ii.
new year dawns:
last night’s fireworks
tingle on her lips
for Spanki
iii.
in birdsong dawn
greeting the new year
naked
Ross Clarke

Spot Haiku 14 - Post-election Haiku Part 1
i.
election party
howard's end at fisherman's bend
we wield our voodoo
Ian Row
ii.
going, going, gone
even at the very end
he was still spinning
Ian Row
iii.
ok, it went well
we voted for the workers -
the light on the hill
Cathy Dineen
iv.
personal hubris
that was his downfall, she said
never forget that
