a pre-cog suite

i.
You knew I'd write these,
and that they'd be just like this,
these pre-cog haiku.

ii.
These blessed, cursed verses
seem to offer you a choice
about the last line.

iii.
But we're here again
wondering, as it happens,
why you're not surprised.

iv.
You've heard it before
in Minority Report
by Philip K Dick.

v.
Who takes credit? Blame?
Is foreknowledge authorship?
Why are you smiling?

vi.
In the end, of course,
all your choices led you here.
Like to choose again?
